Insurance Billing
Here's how insurance billing works
Patients are responsible for the charges for services received. However, to assist patients in meeting their financial obligations, we will bill their health insurance carrier(s) for them, as long as they present a valid insurance ID card and/or information regarding insurance coverage at the time of registration. Patients will receive a letter letting them know we've billed their insurance.
The Acadia Hospital works closely with all insurance carriers, and we are often able to answer questions and resolve payment issues on behalf of patients as a courtesy. Still, patients need to be aware of the status of their bills and follow up with insurance companies if payments have not been made within 45 days.
